The Trident successful series of regional Instrumentation exhibitions opens its doors for the first time in the Southern part of the UK on 5-6 October at the Madejski Stadium, Reading

The successful Trident series of regional 'Instrumentation' exhibitions opens its doors for the first time in the Southern part of the country on 5th and 6th October at the Madejski Stadium, Reading Following the success of Instrumentation North and Instrumentation Scotland and Offshore Systems, Instrumentation South will offer companies involved in test measurement, data acquisition and control the chance to meet and do business in an informal environment within their own region

The two-day event runs from 10am to 4pm, with free parking and entrance, and will feature 45 exhibitors involved with sensors, transducers, controls and PLCs, electronic test and measurement, QA, calibration, data acquisition, recorders, displays, monitors and analysis equipment.

Strategically located in Reading following careful research and planning by Trident Exhibitions, and after several requests from exhibitors, it is expected the show will be a triumph for all involved.

Helen Thewlis, Managing Director of Trident Exhibitions comments, "We are always in discussions with our exhibitors from both our regional and national events.

It became clear that there was a need for a regional instrumentation event in the South to compliment our biennial Northern show.

After extensive research the Madejski Stadium in Reading was chosen as it certainly fits the bill in terms of location, access from all major transport links and facilities.

I am sure the event will be a great success for both exhibitors and visitors alike".

Enhancing the visitor experience will be free workshops held by the Instrumentation, Systems, and Automation Society (ISA) England Section on day one of the event (5th October).

These free workshops will cover "Wireless networking of sensors and instrumentation: applications and techniques" and will review sensor types and designs, and discuss their optimal use for wireless transmission of sensor and/or control information.

Among those exhibiting products at the event will be National Instruments (stand 208) who will demonstrate their comprehensive range of modular measurement and control hardware and software tools.

Included will be the CompactRIO for rugged, high-speed, industrial measurement, control and monitoring, their M Series multifunction data acquisition boards to create high speed or high channel count measurement solutions - now including the industry's first PCI Express multifunction DAQ devices and NI LabVIEW, their award-winning, industry standard powerful and easy-to-use graphical development environment.

Vaisala (stand 312) will be exhibiting the new HMT100 products which can measure relative humidity, temperature and dewpoint in applications where close control is important.

They will also present the DMT340 which is a new dewpoint transmitter with a choice of probes and options, including a graphical trend display with 1-year data history.

Visit their stand to pick up a free humidity calculator.

Position sensor manufacturer ASM (stand 109) will be introducing new sensors in their magnetostrictive, magnetoresistive and cable-actuated technologies.

In particular, the range now includes EX versions, measurement ranges up to 60 metres, rotary measurements, and resolutions to 1 micro metre.

Also at the event will be Weldlogic (stand 211), whose UK office will exhibit the latest in microprocessor controlled power sources, the AWS-150, along with a host of welding lathes, turntables, orbital lathes and mechanical handling devices.

BEKA associates (stand 206) will be exhibiting their new range of Fieldbus Foundation and Profibus-PA fieldbus instruments which can display up to eight process variables together with units of measurement and tag information on an easy to read 86 x 45mm backlit display.

Transducer solutions specialist RDP Electronics (stand 306) will be showing a new, highly accurate range of competitively priced load cells, ideally suited for research, testing, batch weighing and OEM applications.

Honeywell Process Solutions (stand 410) will be using the event to mark the release of the XYR5000 series, comprising of the following core wireless products; Base station transceiver, Pressure transmitters for pressure, flow and level measurements, Temperature transmitter for dual temperature measurements, and a 4-20mA Converter which allows the addition of any existing measurements to the wireless network.
