The UK Optoelectronic Chemical Sensing Network will hold a free workshop as part of the Instrumentation Scotland and Offshore exhibition on 6th and 7th September in Aberdeen

The UK Optoelectronic Chemical Sensing Network (OptoCem.net) will be holding a free workshop on Thursday 7th September as part of the Instrumentation Scotland and Offshore exhibition taking place at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on 6th and 7th September OptoCem.net is a DTI Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) whose aims are stimulating collaborative R and D, encouraging commercial exploitation and promoting best use of opto-electronic gas and chemical sensing in the water/environment and the oil/gas industry

The free workshop will focus on Optocem.net activities, including its continuing work on roadmapping, by sharing and debating the ideas to date and seeking further inputs.

The workshop programme features.

* An introduction to OptoCem.net.

* Dr Alistair Tweedie: SOA Road mapping progress report.

* Sensors for the water industry: Michael Scott, SWIG Road mapping progress report.

* Sensors for the oil industry: Steve Hammond, Shell Global Solutions, Road mapping progress report.

* Gas sensors, Robert Bogue, GASG.

* Forum.

The workshops will finish at noon, followed by a free lunch provided by Trident Exhibitions as part of the exhibition.

Instrumentation Scotland and Offshore Systems is Scotland's only sensors, measurement, test and control event incorporating Offshore Systems, and so is the perfect opportunity for companies to meet and do business with their customers in their own region.
