Special designs of high accuracy flowmeter

Oval gear meters from Titan offer excellent performance in measuring liquids and oils: special versions have been engineered for applications on robots, in drinks dispensing or fuel monitoring

Titan Enterprises are specialist manufacturers of the high accuracy positive displacement flowmeters known as oval gear meters, that offer excellent performance in measuring fluids and oils over a wide operating flow range, even in hazardous areas, or in high pressure and temperature conditions.

The principle is ideal for hydraulic fluids, engine or lubricating oil, fuels and solvents, and such meters are used for flow measurement and batching in engine test applications, blending systems and chemical plants.

Linearities of +/-0.25% and flow ranges of 200:1 are easily achieved with common fluids, over flow ranges from 0.01 L/min to 500 L/min.

Titan custom made units have been supplied for many unusual applications: one unit to monitor the hydraulic oil flow at the end of a robot arm, needed to be light in weight, and able to perform correctly under 2g acceleration conditions.

The aluminium bodied unit supplied weighed less than 100 grammes in total, to monitor flows from 0.03 to 4.0 litres per minute.

Another special design monitors the syrups used in the "Post-Mix" beverage blending and dispensing systems used in bars and Hotels.

Here a food grade polyethersulphone moulded plastic body also houses the measurement electronics, with a battery powered 6 digit totaliser display to show the volume dispensed, in Litres, enabling monitoring of the total syrup usage in that supply line.

With a choice of body materials, including Hastelloy C, the meters can be used in a variety of corrosive applications: even transparent acrylic lids can be fitted to allow a simple visual flow check for the machine operator.
