CV-COS adds control function to TLV range

A TLV product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Oct 9, 2009

Steam specialist TLV Euro Engineering has introduced the CV-COS, which is suitable for all process applications requiring the automatic control of pressure, temperature and the flow rate of steam.

The electro-pneumatic, pressure-reducing valve adds a control function to a range that combines a pressure-reducing valve, separator and steam trap in a single, compact unit.

TLV claims to have created a unique specification that saves space; simplifies steam system layout, piping and maintenance; and eliminates the risk of damage and incorrect adjustment often associated with side-mounted components.

It removes condensate at a separation efficiency rate up to 98 per cent to provide dry, high-quality steam.

With the valve in a closed position, the line is drained through the steam trap, reducing scale adhesion and water hammer and ensuring trouble-free operation.

The CV-COS, which was developed to meet customer demand for an air-operated steam-conditioning control valve station, combines a compact, top-mounted pneumatic actuator and integrated I/P positioner with a cyclone separator, a self-modulating free-float steam trap and a control valve.

It uses standard electro-pneumatic signals and connections to allow replacement of existing control valves.

Zero/span adjustment can be performed by simple dial rotation.

It also enables a fast response to production-control demands at the upper steam-flow range and enhanced production control in the lower steam-flow range, due to its equal-percentage valve characteristic.

Available with ASME and DIN connections and a choice of stainless-steel, cast-iron or ductile cast-iron bodies, the CV-COS offers improved product quality and productivity.
