New from the SmartView family, the SV280 250mm paperless data acquisition system from Thermo is a direct replacement of large case chart recorders

Thermo Electron Corporation boasts the newest member of the SmartView family, the SV280 250mm paperless data acquisition system.

The SV280 platform shares the same reliability and functionality as its siblings, the SV100 (100mm) and SV180 (180mm) systems, while fulfilling the need for a direct drop-in replacement for existing Westronics M11E and 3200 legacy systems.

As a stand alone unit, the SV280 accepts 48 isolated inputs with added capacity of configuring and displaying calculated points for a maximum 160 points.

SV280 coupled with Thermo SM100 (Smart Multiplexer) or legacy MM120 and legacy MM60 multiplexer extends direct input capabilities up to 160 direct process signals.

Incremental upgrades from traditional paper recorders to electronic network solutions are achieved in a flexible manner.

Process signals include DC voltage, DC current, thermocouples, RTD's, and/or digital data from other Thermo products, DCS, PLC, SCADA or computer generated systems.

The 10.4-inch, high resolution (800x600) TFT touch-screen display with streaming trend, bar graphs, circular charts, and digital values makes monitoring the process easier.

Touch screen controls provide simplest programming available with fast and easy one touch access to critical process information.

SV280 communicates via Ethernet to support File Transfer Protocol (FTP), OLE for Process Control (OPC) and Modbus requirements.

Real-time communication is achieved using a standard web browser or Thermo extensive software applications.

All critical process data is stored on floppy disk or PC card.

The SmartView data acquisition platform (SV280, SV180, SV100 and SM100) centers on providing engineers, operators, and technicians with intuitive, scalable, and easy to maintain platform for improved process monitoring, seamless integration with existing control systems, and enhanced data management.
