Free flowmeter calculation software

A Torbar Flowmeters product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Feb 26, 2003

Torbar Flowmeters Torwin V4.0 pitot tube calibration calculation software is freely available as a download from its web site or on CD by request from the company

The latest package, designed to help select the appropriate Torbar averaging pitot type flow meter, and predict the differential pressure (DP) at meter maximum, normal and minimum flow rates, also contains a fluids library and provides both density calculations for fluids and compressibility data for gases and steam.

It also shows the velocities at those flow rates and calculates the upper and lower critical velocities to ensure that the flow meter will not be used within its resonant frequency region.

Torwin V4.0 enables users of earlier versions V1 to V3 to use existing files.

The program has pull-down lists for length, pressure, temperature, density, viscosity, and flow rate in all imperial, European metric, SI metric and US units.

A useful feature is the ability to 'reverse' calculate by replacing the calculated figure with another known or measured differential pressure to view the actual flow rate at the new DP.

At Torbar Flowmeters, and at its agents offices the program is the start of, and is central to the quotation, order processing, and manufacturing systems.

All quotations and orders are supplied with a copy of the calculation report, which has notes and comments where necessary to assist the correct application of Torbars.
