Fronius will be unveiling some important innovations at the 'Schweissen und Schneiden' fair in Essen that will give visitors plenty to think about With these innovations Fronius is breaking all kinds of new ground - both in terms of technology and product range - to fully justify its motto: "Shift the Limits"

With their lower weight and high specific power, the new, fully-digital TransPocket 2500 and 3500 are setting new standards in their performance category.

Other highlights at the Essen fair are new applications using spatter-free CMT technology, a totally new concept in resistance spot welding, and a new liquid-based (rather than gas-based) plasma cutting system.

Visitors will also not want to miss the new plasma welding system, a laser hybrid method for thicker sheet metals and faster process speeds, or our virtual control desk for controlling, monitoring and diagnosing networked welding systems.

Since its launch at the end of October 2004 CMT (cold metal transfer) has given a good account of itself in all manner of applications.

In the first half of 2005 Fronius shipped 100 CMT welding systems.

Customers have been using these to replace conventional metal shielding gas welding and soldering processes, thereby opening up exciting new potential for automated welding.

Visitors to the trade fair in Essen will be able to see for themselves specific ways in which the CMT technology is forging ahead across boundaries in terms of new material combinations, joining requirements or process parameters.

The TransPocket 2500 is robust, compact, easy to operate and - weighing in at a mere 12 kg - also extremely portable.

When it comes to rod-electrode and DC TIG welding, the TransPocket 2500 is the ideal tool.

It can supply the welder with up to 250 A of power (350 A in the case of the TransPocket 3500), and achieves this irrespective of the mains voltage.

Even when the mains lead is long, the mains voltage is erratic or the equipment is being powered by a generator, the digital control manages to generate a good, stable arc.

This supports the advanced principle of resonant intelligence.

One important factor for the welder is that he can weld all common types of rod electrodes including CEL in a vertical-down position.

Synergic mode enables the welder to access the relevant programme by entering the electrode type and diameter.

All other parameters are supplied automatically by the machine.

These tools are well protected to keep out water, are impact-resistant and offer a long service life and so are ideal for use in challenging conditions such as assembly lines and building sites.

Visit our stand at Schweissen und Schneiden, H3/3-304, from 12th to 17th September 2005.

Our TransPocket welding systems are sure to impress you with their versatility and professional edge, and you'll be amazed too by the other innovative highlights on show.
