Control system for Shell gas production platform
Transmitton has installed an innovative new control system for the new Shell NUI Carrack QA North Sea gas production platform, which reduces costs and increases efficiency
The project is due to be completed by late 2005.
AMEC Group has contracted Transmitton to upgrade its own successful Cromos2000 system at the Poplar Control Room in order to accommodate a further four new DLR stations and two new electrical substations.
The existing system, installed in 1999, provides control and monitoring for the power distribution and building services of the railway, bringing together PABX, CCTV, Help Points, PA and other important infrastructure systems.
In addition, Transmitton will install six fastflex RTUs across four new sites, to provide control of the additional power distribution and building services required for the railway extension.
A new singleheaded Cromos2000 workstation will be installed at London City Airport for maintenance purposes.
The project requires careful planning for the commissioning of the additional works to minimise disruption to the operation of the existing Railway.
Transmitton have many years of experience in managing upgrades to existing systems, especially the Docklands Light Railway, where successful upgrades have previously been carried out.
