From June 2005 international supplier of integrated control and asset management solutions Transmitton will boost its portfolio of Real Time Passenger Information Systems by becoming UK distributor for rail industry displays for Finnish company Mitron Oy.

Mitron Oy designs and produces bespoke public transport information signs using Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), Light Emitting Diode (LED) and Thick Film Transistor (TFT) technologies.

Displays are typically installed in departure halls and platforms in rail stations giving the travelling public clearly presented information about destinations, timetables, arrivals and departures.

The Mitron Oy cutting-edge products are a natural extension to the Transmitton innovative system technologies and can be supplied as an essential element of an Integrated Station Management (ISM) or Real Time Passenger Information System (RTPIS).

New generation signs are easy to read in all light conditions, are cost effective to install and maintain, fast replacing outdated cathode ray tube displays in the UK as part of the latest information systems.

Transmitton Managing Director Ian Wright comments, "We're very excited about working with Mitron Oy in the UK.

It is another step forward for Transmitton as we focus on our presence in the global market place and we will continue to extend our portfolio through strategic partnerships.".
