Horizons are expanding for leading supplier of integrated control and asset management solutions Transmitton, set to capture some major international business following an intensive export drive since its acquisition by Siemens last year Global growth is expected for two proven Transmitton technologies, cromos and fastflex

Transmitton Account manager Chris Ford, who joined the company in October last year from Optilan in Coventry, has just returned from a visit to Rail Solutions Asia in Bangkok, Thailand.

This month Chris will be joining the Siemens team exhibiting at Africa Rail in Johannesburg, South Africa and at the Innotrans exhibition, in September, in Berlin.

Chris explained, "Predicted growth in global tourism in many countries is bound to lead to developments in infrastructure.

South Africa is a good example, where the 2010 World Cup is a driver for change and significant investment in infrastructure.

A modern transport system needs to be designed and put in place well in time for this major event, using just the kind of technology that Transmitton has been developing in the UK at the King's Cross and St Pancras Stations".

Across the globe, rail market conditions emerge and flux rapidly.

Change matches the rate at which today's innovation becomes commonplace.

Siemens and Transmitton have complementary technologies and a standard platform for technological research and development aimed firmly at the needs of the international rail market.

Through the recent integration of technologies the Siemens RailCom Manager is now based on the proven Transmitton cromos software solution, a dependable suite of real-time control software and with interface facilities that can be configured for passenger information and fine-tuned specifically to suit each client's needs.

"The product portfolio integration that is taking place between Siemens and Transmitton, combined with co-operation, teamwork and a united approach, presents many opportunities for potential growth," adds Chris.

With a strong position in the global marketplace, Transmitton has gained cross-market and international experience by providing systems in America, Asia and the Far East, Africa, Australia, Eastern and Western Europe as well as the UK.

The Transmitton cromos and fastflex technologies are at the core of the company's leading-edge solutions for the rail and process industries.

Its products, which include the Integrated Station Management System and the Real-time Passenger Information Systems, have been supplied and installed widely in many applications in the UK, including for example, King's Cross and St Pancras Stations, Docklands Light Railway and East Coast Mainline.
