Torgersens advised Kail and Co on maximising its cash flow efficiency, making accurate profit projections and negotiating and securing a finance package, to maintain a strong position in its sector

Engineering company, Kail and Co, is proving its long-term commitment to the North East Despite the struggles experienced by many of its rivals, the company plans to move into extensive, purpose-built manufacturing and office accommodation in the Castletown Road area of Sunderland

The company, which has more than thirty years' experience in the engineering industry, now employs over thirty people, following several years of sustained growth.

Kail and Co is a precision engineering sub-contractor to the oil and gas, automotive, aerospace, defence and marine, nuclear, medical and scientific industries, working for national and international blue chip companies.

The new premises, which will cover some 13,000 sq feet, will be completed in March 2004 and provide the company with spacious office accommodation and modern manufacturing facilities, equipped with state of the art computerised machine tools.

Martin Johnson, partner at local accountants, Torgersens, a member of national firm, Hacker Young and advisors to Kail and Co, said: "The company has become a leading light in its specialised industry and an asset to the North East region.

It enjoys a reputation not only as one of Sunderland's enduring names in industry, but as one which is both progressive and enterprising".

Johnson and his team at Torgersens advised the company on maximising its cash flow efficiency, making accurate profit projections and negotiating and securing a finance package.

Steve Pattison, Managing Director at Kail and Co, said: "Despite intense downsizing in the industry, due to the advancement of technology and the movement of business to the Far East, we have maintained a strong position in the sector and now enjoy a reputation as one of its niche players.

While we're experts in engineering, we rely on Martin's advice to ensure that the growth of the company is underpinned by a solid financial framework.".
