The Thermal Detection range of miniature bearing temperature sensors, now offer improved performance and tolerances with excellent delivery times.

The extended range offers operating temperatures from -50 to 120C with ptfe cabling rated to +260C continuous, allowing the cable to cross machine hot spots.

The most reliable indicator of bearing condition is the temperature of the metal beneath the bearing shoe.

Rising temperatures indicates the breakdown of the lubricating oil film.

Quick identification of this condition allows the plant engineer to initiate a planned maintenance schedule before catastrophic failure of the bearing and resultant plant failure.

Typical applications for bearing sensors include motors, turbines, generators, pumps, drive shafts, gearboxes and other journal bearing pedestals.

The miniature bearing sensors are available with Pt100 sensors or thermocouples, in 2 and 3 wire single element configurations.

Delivery of standard product can typically be within 2 weeks of order.

RTD construction has silver-plated copper conductors, 7/0.127mm (28 AWG) ptfe-insulated with stainless steel overbraid option to BS EN 60751:1996.

Thermocouple elements are types T, E, J and K, to BS EN 60584-1:1996 with conductors 7/0.2mm (24 AWG) ptfe insulated flat pair with PFA jacket.

Available sheath materials are 316 stainless steel, brass and copper.

Case diameters range from 3.20mm to 7.00mm to suit various bearing housing designs.

Standard flying leads come at 1000mm.
