Turnkey Learning has launched an innovative new on-line management tool to help organisations and managers check out the prevailing conditions in their teams, stimulating more effective team working and better management practice.
It is expected to be of interest to all sectors of UK commerce and industry, including Engineering.
The TCS OnLine (Team Climate Survey) works by identifying individual experiences of working on the team at any point in time, asking team members, including the team leader, to rate 20 key characteristics of team effectiveness.
Tim Gallimore of Turnkey Learning explains: "TCS OnLine is not complicated or time consuming, and can give a sense of how a team is performing, establishing a baseline for future development".
TCS OnLine measures team effectiveness in two simple ways: how important a particular team characteristic is to an individual (what they want), and the degree to which their expectations are satisfied within the team (what they get).
Gallimore continues: "The tool can help organisations understand how individuals feel about being in the team; how the team leader's perceptions compare to those of the team; identify strengths and areas for development for the team leader to focus on; and gauge accurately how perceptions of the team change over time".
The downloadable TCS OnLine survey only takes a few minutes to complete, and once the data is entered into the TCS OnLine system, a Team Climate profile is produced quickly and simply.
The package works for teams of up to 20 and includes a printer-friendly user-guide providing everything there is to know about administering and interpreting a Team Climate profile.
Gallimore concludes: "Another useful outcome of TCS OnLine is the generation of data across an organisation, providing valuable information about culture, and informing future organisational development strategy".
