The Thorworld yardramp and platform system was chosen as a simple, reliable and cost-effective method of unloading raw materials from container vehicles, as well as loading finished goods.
The system consists of a 10,000 kg (10 tonne) capacity yardramp, together with a loading platform fitted with a 6,000 kg (6 tonne) capacity electro hydraulic swing lip type dock leveller.
Positioned adjacent to a doorway, Thorworld also equipped the existing door frame with a Neoprene dock seal to provide a perfect seal between the building and vehicle during loading and unloading.

The 2,400mm wide x 3,600mm long 6,000 kg (6 tonne) capacity loading platform is fitted with safety handrails on both sides.
Fork lift trucks drive up the ramp onto the platform to unload incoming pallets of raw materials in Palacon containers and load pallet loads of finished goods.
The ramp has a serrated open grid deck for positive traction in all weather conditions, with a hand-operated hydraulic pump raising it to the required height when used independently.
Although it is secured to the ground the fixings can be easily removed if required, and the built-in tow bar then allows the mobile ramp to be easily moved by fork truck to any other part of the site where it can then be used separately from the platform and dock leveller.
Thorworld standard mobile yardramps are available in 7,000 kg, 10,000 kg, 12,000 kg or 15,000 kg capacities.
They are of solid beam steel construction, hydraulically operated down to 890mm, and carry the CE mark, fully meeting all European safety standards and directives.
Increasingly popular with companies in a wide range of industries, where there are no fixed loading docks on site, they are available for purchase or rental on a sale or return basis through the Thorworld RentARamp division.
