Training FPSO operators on standard
procedures
Michael Bolton of TSC Simulation will discuss how to use simulation technology to train operators on correct facility use, safety and emergency shutdown procedures at a forthcoming IQPC Conference
How to improve your offshore operations by training your FPSO engineering teams to control standard procedures and emergency responses is the topic of an IQPC Conference being held on May 22nd and 23rd 2007 at the Cafe Royal London Michael Bolton, Managing Director of TSC Simulation will be speaking at the Breakfast seminar on 23rd May (7:15 - 8:45) on how you can use simulation technology to train operators on correct facility use, safety and emergency shutdown procedures including the control of components such as compressors and the processes of cleaning and re-injection of gas and water

In this hands-on, interactive session, attendees can take part in an FPSO simulation and get first hand experience of how their trainees could benefit from this training method.
They will join Michael and their peers in FPSO operations to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of simulation as opposed to other training methods, and get advice on how simulation training could work alongside existing systems.
The Seminar aims to improve attendees process verification and optimisation by increasing the technical competence of their FPSO operations team through:.
* Identification of which competence areas are most critical or most lacking among FPSO personnel.
* What are the main challenges with technical competence on an FPSO as opposed to a traditional fixed platform?.
* How should a programme be designed to train engineers on these key areas?.
* Understanding how simulation programmes can help to improve technical competence onboard an FPSO.
* What impact could this training have on staff retention?.
The conference as a whole is focussed on Maximising Performance From Floating Systems With The Latest Strategies To Improve Productivity And Reliability Throughout the Project Lifecycle.
