Technical training for FPSO operations teams.
How to improve process verification and optimisation by increasing the technical competence of FPSO operations teams was a presentation made at the recent Summit of IQPC Oil and Gas FPSO Systems
The 6th Annual Summit of the IQPC Oil and Gas FPSO Systems took place on 22-23 May 2007 at the Cafe Royal, London.
Attending as a guest speaker was Michael Bolton, Managing Director of TSC, who discussed how to improve process verification and optimisation by increasing the technical competence of FPSO operations teams.
TSC have made a significant contribution to improvements in safety, cost saving and efficiency advances for companies including BP (for the Seillean, Foinaven and Schiehallion FPSO vessels), and for Shell and ExxonMobil.
Michael Bolton said: "The summit included representatives from most major FPSO suppliers and operators.
There was general agreement that increasing technical competence leads to major cost and safety benefits".
On the second morning, Michael led a very well attended breakfast seminar in which delegates could get involved with a hands on interactive session, take part in a FPSO simulation and get first hand experience of how trainees could benefit from this training method.
