Airflow "Easybuild" flat-packed spray booths
Compressed air and fluid systems specialists, Thorite, have launched a new range of self-assembly, modular construction spraybooths, suitable for a huge range of production and finishing applications
Their existing diaphragm pump had poor flow rate characteristics and required manual adjustment to cope with differing output requirements.
Harmer contacted Thorite with a request for an improved pump, coupled to a system which would enable flow rates to be varied by remote control.
Thorite specified an ARO 2 inch polypropylene "EXP" diaphragm pump.
This model is part of a completely new ARO range which features unique non-metallic process pumps, capable of duty cycles of up to 24 hours.
The pump fitted the application perfectly, combining high flow rates with slow cycling operations, which will ultimately result in a considerably extended service life.
Thorite then installed a pneumatic Pilot-Operated Regulator system from Norgren, which allowed the pump to be remotely adjusted.
This type of control also enables the smallest possible volume of compressed air to be used to achieve the desired flow rate.
The net result for Harmer is an innovative pumping system created by Thorite, in partnership with ARO and Norgren, to provide a processing system which combines high performance levels with maxmum energy efficiency.
Full details of the complete range of ARO diaphragm pumps and Norgren process products are available on the Thorite website.
