A leading UK systems provider, Turbo Systems, is targeting the food sector with its highly popular VP 100 transfer pump, which is ideal for products such as soup, pate, pizza topping and ready meals

One of the UK's leading systems providers, Turbo Systems, is targeting the food sector with its highly popular VP 100 transfer pump, which is ideal for products such as soup, pate, pizza topping and ready meals The use of encapsulated products and 'pumpable' systems are proving to deliver a much better end product and they enable manufacturers to customise their production methods, while also reducing storage and handling costs

It is for this reason that Turbo Systems is promoting its VP 100 transfer pump to help meet the increased demand.

The Managing Director of Turbo Systems, Mr Andy Lang, explains: "The market's need for 'pumpable' products with low densities has increased since the boom of convenience meals.

'Pumpable' systems are ideal where you need to control how much ingredient is needed in an automated production process and the use of pumps will ultimately provide savings through more efficient production".

The VP 100 series form part of the Turbo Systems range of new generation, cost effective machines and has been developed from the existing depositor range.

Available with modern lubricant free pneumatics, the VP 100 can be tailored to meet customers individual requirements and is suitable for a wide range of applications.

It works by transferring the mix from the mixing bowl to the depositor hopper and it is particularly compatible with the Turbo Systems range of depositors and mixers.

Frozen foods producer, RHM, based in Doncaster, is already enjoying much success with the VP 100 series, since the installation of four pumps earlier this year.

RHM engineering manager, Mr Ian Bewick is delighted with the results.

He said: ''The system is easy to use and has taken away the need for manual handling, which is exactly what we wanted to achieve".

Standard features of the VP 100 include simple controls, easily adjustable height, castors to ensure mobility and an easy clean design, whereby no tools are required for changeovers and cleaning procedures.

In addition to these benefits, the VP 100 has been specially designed in stainless steel to improve efficiency and traceability through the food chain.

"More and more of our customers are recognising the cost saving benefits of using, where appropriate, food products with a low soluble specification.

Turbo Systems is highly regarded in the food industry for its extensive range of depositing solutions, so we plan to promote the pumps side of the business to offer a complete systems solution," Mr Lang added.
