Professor Bob Andoh has been named as the Outstanding Individual in the water and waste treatment sector, by the judging panel for the 2003 IWEX Innovation Awards Bob is a visiting Professor at John Moores University in Liverpool and an invited lecturer for specialist Post-Graduate courses including the CIWEM Diploma at Bristol University and MSC programmes at Cranfield, Sheffield and Portsmouth Universities

In his position as Group Technical Director of Hydro International, he has been responsible for a number of new products, a recent example being the Hydro-Jet Screen, which is the first non-powered combined sewer overflow screen that has no moving components and it totally self cleansing.
He is no stranger to receiving awards for his work.
Notable examples of such accolades are the SMART award for innovation and the Millennium product status for the Hydro-Jet Screen.
In judging Prof Andoh as the Outstanding Individual, the panel were impressed by his true passion for providing the world with a sustainable future for its water resource and his commitment to providing technical solutions which are equally suited to both developed and third world countries.
The award was presented by Professor Tom Stephenson of Cranfield University, a member of the judging panel.
In his acceptance speech, an emotional Bob Andoh expressed his delight and surprise at having been nominated and spoke of his ever-increasing enthusiasm for the developments that are taking place in the water industry and his commitment to ensuring that the industry, in general, and his company, in particular, continue to develop technological solutions which are so vital to ensuring the highest levels of environmental standards required for the modern-day world in which we live.
Earlier in the evening, Hydro International had received the IWEX Innovation Award for the "Contribution to Environmental and Sustainability" for their Stormwater Package which provides a controlled, contained and cleaned solution to problems created by global urbanisation.
