Publishers of the Fluid and Air Directory have issued the final call for entries for the 2007 edition of the publication which is due for issue in April
"The publication covers all aspects of the hydraulics and pneumatics industry and is an indispensable source of information for manufacturers; distributors; system builders and end users," commented Sarah Williams, publisher.
"And with Britain being the fifth largest manufacturer in the world after the United States, Japan, West Germany and Italy with production of GBP700 million and employing over 10,000 people, this is a manufacutiring success story which is often overlooked.
There are only around 150 manufacturers.
Some are part of large multinational companies with manufacturing factories worldwide.
Most, however, are small to medium sized companies (typically 100 to 200 employees) with a strategic role to supply components to Britain's machinery manufacturers.
Each of these companies has a design, development, manufacturing and marketing role to ensure its products are of a high and consistent quality to British and international standards.
The industry also includes about 400 distributors which play a significant role in assembly and servicing equipment and in some cases design and development.
About 30% of the pneumatics output and about 20% of hydraulics output is sold in this way.
The Fluid and Air Directory details the products and services of these UK manufacturers to help specifiers buy new products".
The Fluid and Air Directory is endorsed and supported by the British Fluid Power Association and is available priced at GBP55.
