TUV America Management Service division has certified Berwanger, the global oil, gas, and petrochemical engineering consulting company based in Houston to ISO 9001:2000

TUV America Management Service division has certified Berwanger (of Houston) to ISO 9001:2000 The Berwanger scope of the certification is that of a global oil, gas, and petrochemical engineering consulting company engaged in areas including pressure relief systems design, engineering information management, conceptual design, front-end engineering design, mechanical integrity, process hazards analysis, and software solutions

"A strong commitment across the Berwanger organization towards achieving this milestone was a critical driving force throughout the registration process," said Rudy Taron, Lead Auditor, TUV America "Clearly a lot of effort went into preparation for the certification.

A good pre-assessment by the TUV representative Carlos Godoy, excellent support by their consultant rep from Clydsdale and extensive, disciplined internal review by Berwanger staff was evident, and as a result, the on-site audit activities couldn't have gone more smoothly".

"Since the inception of our company, Berwanger has maintained a single-minded focus on customer satisfaction through the delivery of products and services of exceptional quality and value," said Mr.Berwanger: "Our ISO 9001-certified Quality Management System (QMS) serves as an independent confirmation of what our clients have known for years.

We look at each and every job as an opportunity to find a better, more efficient way of meeting their objectives".

Senior Vice President David Kimble added, "We will continue to find increasingly better ways to meet our client needs, and our QMS will help us monitor our effectiveness in maintaining this growth".

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was founded 1946.

Based in Geneva, it created the first international standards for manufacturing, trade and communications.

ISO 9001 was initially published in 1987 as an internationally accepted quality management certification system to define, identify and confirm quality benchmarks within organizations.

ISO 9001:2000 is the most recent revision of the ISO 9001 standard.

Today, more than 90 countries are members, with the US representative being the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

There are over 500,000 ISO 9001-certified companies around the world, including more than 50,000 in North America, all demonstrating a commitment to continual improvement in quality.
