Tetra Pak launches cap production in
Russia

Consumers' growing preference for convenient packaging solutions results in increased demand for packages with closures.
A year ago one out of six Tetra Pak packages in Russia was fitted with a closure.
Since then this number has doubled.
Now every third package, delivered by Tetra Pak in Russia, comes with a cap.
Production is currently starting up, with 15 production lines to be installed in 2007.
Europlast Association, a leading producer of polymer caps and PET preforms in Russia and CIS, operates ten plants, located in Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Moldova.
The leading international and Russian drinks' producers are all clients of Europlast.
Tetra Pak Russia is working on localising production of its packaging material.
As previously announced, this year a new Tetra Pak converting factory will start its operations in Lobnya, in the Moscow region.
This will be the largest converting factory in Russia and the CIS.
At the first stage the factory will supply four billion packages to the largest Russian food producers annually.
Tetra Pak has been successfully operating in the Russian market for almost fifty years.
It has established strong partnerships with Russia's leading food producers.
Headquartered in Moscow, Tetra Pak Russia has regional offices in St Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, Krasnodar and Yekaterinburg.
Currently, Tetra Pak Russia manufactures packaging material at two converting factories in Timashevsk (Krasnodar region) and in Korolev (Moscow region).
Tetra Pak employs over 700 people in Russia.
The total 2006 sales volume in Russia exceeded 6.1 billion packages or 43 packages per capita.
Last year Tetra Pak delivered about 130 billion packages worldwide, and overall sales volume exceeded 8.5 billion Euros.
