Tetra Pak opens Euro100M plant in Russia
Tetra Pak, one of the world's leading processing and packaging solutions providers for food manufacturing, has launched its new converting plant in Russia
This plant, located in the town of Lobnya in the Moscow region, will become the largest in Russia and Eastern Europe to produce packaging material for liquid food products With a planned capacity of four billion packages per year, this new facility will be a strategic addition to the existing Tetra Pak capacity

The investment exceeds euro100 million, the company's largest investment in Russia to date.
Igor Akimov, President of Tetra Pak Russia said: "The launch of the new plant demonstrates our commitment to helping customers grow their dairy and beverage industry with our unique offering of integrated processing and packaging systems for liquid food products.
The decision to invest in new production facilities is based on the dynamic growth of the Russian dairy and JNSD market".
Employing world class manufacturing processes, the new plant will feature the most advanced technologies and equipment.
In total, 75% of factory capacity will produce aseptic packaging to meet Russia's growing demand for long-life products.
The UHT-milk market is particularly buoyant and grew by 16% in 2006 - twice as fast as the whole market of packed milk.
Tetra Pak experts believe this trend is set to continue.
Tetra Pak has been successfully operating in the Russian market for almost fifty years, and has established strong partnerships with Russia's leading food producers.
Headquartered in Moscow, Tetra Pak Russia has regional offices in St Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, Krasnodar and Yekaterinburg and employs over 700 people.
The total 2006 sales volume in Russia exceeded 6.1 billion packages or 43 packages per capita.
Last year Tetra Pak delivered about 130 billion packages worldwide, and overall sales volume exceeded 8.5 billion Euros.
