Multistage pumps for high pressure
duties
Multistage pumps can be found in a number of applications where high pressures are required: feeding boilers, water supply to high rise buildings, irrigation plant or conveying hydrocarbons
The workings of the pump is simple, in fact the pressure increase is due to the liquid flowing through impeller - diffuser groups that are assembled onto a common shaft in series From an energy point of view, it is important that high efficiency impellers and diffusers are used as the installed power of motors can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer

The Pump Company can offer two types of multistage pump: first is the SAER Elettropompe CWM series is a range of vertical pumps, using a space saving arrangement with in-line connections.
With a pressure rating of up to 40bar and a maximum temperature of 120C there is a choice of either stainless steel or brass impellers, and the pressure retaining parts are enclosed in a stainless steel tube.
Second is the Salvatore Robuschi TS series, a range of horizontal ring section multistage pumps, manufactured in high grade cast iron.
The impellers and diffusers are mounted on a stainless steel shaft and include back vanes to balance the axial thrusts.
