No one would dream of letting their car engine run at maximum revs (full speed) and control the cars speed by just applying the brakes! So why do we allow this to happen when operating pumps?

Thousands of pumps in industry are oversized and continue to run flat out 24/7, despite the fact that the demand has changed Energy represents 95% of a pump life cycle cost, so the opportunity for savings are substantial

The use of variable speed drives and high efficiency motors can reduce energy costs between 30%-50%.

The Pump Company is able to assist in achieving these savings without compromising the pump lifespan or reliability.

Traditional methods of throttling oversized pumps result in wasted energy and high costs, whereas a variable speed drive ensures that no more energy than necessary is used to achieve the required result.

A centrifugal pump running at half speed will only consume one-eighth of the energy of one running at full speed.

Further by reducing the pump speed to 80% only requires 51% of the power.

Using the Grundfos range of single and multistage industrial pumps with built in variable speed converters coupled to sensors, allows the pump to automatically control its own speed.

The payback time when fitting this type of equipment will surprise even the greatest sceptics! In fact the development of speed controlled pumps is nothing short of a revolution in pump technology.

This is yet another example of the Pump Company providing "Solid Answers to Fluid Questions".
