If your business depends on water, it could be time to re-locate! Tees Valley Regeneration has launched a campaign targeting water critical businesses located in drought threatened areas of the UK

If your business depends on water, it could be time to rethink your location! Tees Valley Regeneration in partnership with Northumbrian Water has launched a direct campaign targeting those water critical businesses located in drought threatened areas of the UK The campaign focuses on the long term advantages of relocating or expanding in the Tees Valley area for businesses with a high water demand

Continuing water shortages in parts of England pose an ever-increasing risk to the thousands of business that rely on a cost-effective, reliable and plentiful water supply.

Restricted water use, tightening legislation and rising water and waste-water management costs have serious long-term implications for the viability of many businesses operating in these areas.

According to the Environment Agency 2006 report on climate change: Time To Get Ready, 'Periods of drought spanning more than one season or one year present a serious threat to water supplies.

South East England is under greater pressure than most places - it is one of the driest regions in the UK, with less available water per person than Spain'.

The Tees Valley, however, is under no such threat.

As recently as 18 May 2006, The Financial Times highlighted that 'Northumbrian Water, which supplies 2.6m customers, does not envisage any restrictions on water use in the region'.

So businesses relying on a cost-effective, reliable and plentiful supply of water may find relocation for expansion to be the best long-term solution.

So why Tees Valley? The Tees Valley has all the conditions for sustainable success for any water related business.
