Weighing aspects of legal metrology certificates
The first students to have successfully completed the course in the weighing aspects of legal metrology have been awarded their Certificates of Competence!
The first students to have successfully completed the course in the weighing aspects of legal metrology have been awarded their Certificates of Competence.
This new joint training initiative has been set up between the UK Weighing Federation and the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff (UWIC).
The certificates were awarded by course supervisor Andy Hayward at the recent UKWF regional meeting in Birmingham and among the recipients was the Federation's President Derek Christie.
The Hayman Award for the Best Student was awarded to Brian Johnson of Mettler Toledo.
Colin Hayman, who was MD of Taunton based Westco Bilanciai before retiring earlier this year, has been one of the main driving forces in setting up the training initiative.
The course, which is aimed at sales and service personnel within the weighing industry, was established to address the concern that there was no formalised training for people involved in this vitally important industry.
The training will ensure that customers can have confidence in using UKWF members whose personnel have achieved this national qualification, knowing that their service provider will have a high-level of up-to-date legal metrology knowledge.
