The new range of Union Food Machinery and Equipment (UFM) cutting machines, the SuperCutters, will now be available with maintenance contracts on both the AC and DC versions

SuperCutter range gets a maintenance boost ~ Laska cutting machines are suitable for meat, poultry and fish ~ Union Food Machinery and Equipment (UFM) has announced that its range of cutting machines, the SuperCutters, will now be available with maintenance contracts on both the AC and DC versions.

Manufactured in Austria by Laska, the machine capacity ranges from 200 to 750 litres.

The robust SuperCutters are made of stainless steel with a closed foundation slab and feature and an in-air filtration system and control device.

They have one or two mixing speeds and two cutting speeds as standard but can also be supplied with infinitely variable cutting speed up to the top speed as well as forward and reverse mixing.

However, in UK industry, most SuperCutters will work across three shifts every day.

As a result, wear and tear could become a danger, as it could on all high-use equipment.

The UFM maintenance contracts mitigate for this eventuality by providing the user with peace of mind that any problems will be fixed quickly.

Furthermore, by providing a predictive maintenance schedule, the company can eliminate unplanned downtime almost entirely in many cases.

This can be complimented by an optional modem link for electrical fault diagnostics, further embracing the philosophy of minimising downtime.

UFM is also able to provide on-site specification service prior to sale, in addition to its maintenance contracts.

"In the UK manufacturer's margins are becoming increasingly tight, so every penny of efficiency that can be squeezed out of each piece of equipment is enormously beneficial," explained Malcolm Burgess, managing director of UFM.

"Our maintenance contracts are just part of ensuring that this is achieved and downtime is minimised.

Furthermore, maintenance is made all the easier when the machines are specified and installed correctly.

As a result, we strive to offer our best advice at the earliest possible stage".

Options that can be added to the SuperCutter range include vacuum execution, a cooking facility, nitrogen cooling and a computer based control system.
