New sales and marketing director at
Uponor
Iain Knowles, previously with BG and Gas Measurement Instruments, has been appointed as the Uponor infrastructure sales and marketing director in Glasgow, following the retirement of George Lees

His career began at the age of 17 as an apprentice craftsman with Scottish Gas (later British Gas Scotland), where he worked his way up the organisation in an engineering function, later specialising in gas distribution engineering systems.
After various roles, including a spell at BG Engineering HQ in Marble Arch, London on a four-year secondment, Iain moved back to Scotland and joined GMI (Gas Measurement Instruments) of Renfrew near Glasgow, where he worked for five years as gas industry manager before joining Uponor.
Originally from the Edinburgh area, Iain is married to Gillian and cites his many hobbies as walking, skiing, fly fishing, cycling and squash.
His current ambition is to climb Everest (well, to get to the base camp bit anyway).
