Professor Alan Reed, University of Greenwich Director of Regional Liaison (Kent and Medway), said: "There is a wealth of academic knowledge on both sides of the Channel.
As institutions of Higher Education we all face similar pressures, especially in the areas of scientific and technological research, and collaboration is increasingly the way forward.
Thanks to LINKS, we are now better placed to capitalise on our combined expertise and knowledge".
After formal presentations delegates toured the research and teaching facilities at the Chatham Maritime campus, and in particular the recently opened School of Pharmacy and well established Medway School of Engineering.
LINKS is part funded by Interreg IIIA, the EU fund designed to tackle economic and social issues and strengthen cross border relations.
