Vacon will deliver five step-down step-up AC drive solutions to the water supply system of Yaroslavl, a city of more than 600,000 inhabitants in central Russia

Vacon will deliver five step-down step-up AC drive solutions to the water supply system of Yaroslavl, a city of more than 600,000 inhabitants in central Russia The Vacon step-down step-up solution enables the use of the existing 6 kV medium-voltage motor with a low-voltage AC drive

This delivery is part of the modernisation project of the water supply system in Yaroslavl, where existing water pumping equipment will be retrofitted, including the installation of AC drives.

The project amounts to 10 million euros and is financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

One Vacon drive of 630 kW, 6 kV has already been delivered.

The other drives (2 pcs of 630 kW, 6 kV drives and 2 pcs of 500 kW, 6 kV drives) will be delivered to Yaroslavl in February, 2006.

During the last three years, Vacon step-down step-up solutions have been used in roughly 30 deliveries in Russia.
