Gentle pump solves many problems.
A Verderflex pump with a gentle pumping action has solved a sludge removal problem for a TV manufacturer. It also manages to empty two other waste slurry tanks in its spare time.
Originally the site had five different makes of air diaphragm pumps on site, handling titanium pigment slurries and acidic abrasive process fluids.
However, the company sought to rationalise its air pump section in order to improve plant reliability and achieve cost benefits by having one make and minimum models and sizes on site.
Verder was represented by a 2 inch VA50 air pump being tested on an aggressive/abrasive process duty, a duty which other makes of air pump had been tested on, and had proved unreliable.
After a thorough review of all the different makes and pump duties in use at the site and taking into consideration such factors as performance, reliability, ease of maintenance, availability of spares and costs, Huntsman Tioxide chose Verder as its preferred supplier of air pumps.
After discussing specific requirements, four VA50 stainless steel/teflon pumps and eight VA25 kynar/teflon pumps have subsequently been installed at the site.
