Product containment is essential to protect the workforce and environment from dangerous leaks: the Verder TB series pump offers a thrust free, seal free design and is capable of handling solids

Product containment, especially when pumping hazardous fluids, is essential to protect the workforce and environment from dangerous leaks This is especially true for forward-looking companies with an eye for environmental concerns

The effective sealing of fluid pumping equipment has always been a difficult area and is recognised as the single most common point of failure.

By their very nature, most seals will leak and the resulting danger, combined with the time and cost of cleaning up the resultant spillage, continue to increase.

The principle of two precision-machined surfaces being forced together and then rotated against each other whilst forming a leak free seal, has never been a reliable proposition, especially if there are solids present.

Verder now provides a solution to this problem, the Verder TB series pump which offers a thrust free, seal free design, with the capability to handle solids.

The accepted benefits of magnetic drive leak free pumping have now been further developed to provide a mainstream option to traditional sealed pumps, without comprising on the more arduous applications where solids are involved.

Indeed options exist where damage caused by dry running operation can be prevented.

The elimination of thrust represents a major step forward in enhancing trouble free, low maintenance operation: examples of maintenance free operation in excess of five years are documented for the Verder mag drive series of pumps.

Incorporating hard wearing silicon carbide wear rings protects the pump from wear by solids and provides secondary back up bearings that automatically step in should there ever be a problem with the main bearing.

The Verder TB series of thrust balanced mag drive pumps feature.

* All silicon carbide shaft, bearings and renewable wear rings.

* Unique zero thrust design.

* The ability to handle fluids with entrained solids.

* Totally non-metallic wetted pump end.

* Full 16 bar rated working pressure.

* 121 degrees C maximum working temperature.

* Large pump range 11/2" to 6".

The TB and its smaller sister U series offer the opportunity for guaranteed leak free pumping, combined with plant standardisation.

The use of silicon carbide combined with ETFE (Tefzel by Dupont) make the pumps, in their standard format, ideal for use with an array of fluids: acids, alkalis, solvents, inorganics and halogen derivatives.

This brings opportunities to build in true plant standardisation and interchangeability, drive forward spares reduction and enhance product training and knowledge: leading to a true reduction in the cost of ownership whilst improving plant reliability.
