Viking Johnson's better bolt-up
Bolting up Viking Johnson couplings and adaptors will be quicker and easier following the company decision to introduce a new anti-corrosion coating for nuts and bolts

Sheraplex, which replaces Rilsan, displays equivalent corrosion protection whilst offering enhanced mechanical properties.
It has a PTFE coating that reduces friction between the threads of the fixings, so that the correct loading is achieved consistently and with less effort.
Bolt torques are unchanged, avoiding confusion for customers during the change-over.
Another advantage of Sheraplex is that nuts and bolts with the coating are less inclined to bind in the threads when re-tightened - when fittings are dismantled and re-installed, for example.
Long-term vibration trials and salt spray testing to ASTM B117 have shown that Sheraplex is equivalent to Rilsan in all other key respects.
It also complies with DIN50021, has WRAS approval, and achieves full coverage to WIS 4-52-03.
Already widely used in the water industry for long-term anti-corrosion protection, Sheraplex combines two proven coatings - a sherardised layer of zinc/iron alloy overlaid with a polymeric barrier.
