for solids
The new 'Roller Gate' from Vortex Valves is designed to put an end to sticking and leaking square gates in dry solids handling

A new orifice gate valve for dry bulk solids handling makes two major advances, in one single modular design: the valves have been specifically designed for solids handling applications
Vortex Wye Line Diverter is Quantum blessed
Vortex follows the successful UK launch of its Quantum gate valve with the Vortex Wye Line Diverter, which delivers the same advantages for vacuum, or dilute phase pneumatic conveying of dry solids
Using externally accessible, nylon, cam-adjustable rollers instead of blade guides, the gate gives positive material shut-off and dust tight sealing.
This feature is critical in preventing material packing, which is the cause of valve failure and premature wear in typical gate valves.
As with other Vortex valves, users and OEMs are not asked to pay a premium for quality and reliability.
Built in aluminium, carbon steel, 304 or 316 stainless steel, the Roller Gate is engineered in such a way that rapid assembly and front edge manufacturing systems offset other cost factors.
The Vortex Roller Gate is suitable for gravity applications, including fine, moderately abrasive powders and small to large granulars or pellets.
A wide variety of configurations are available, notably rectangular sizes and round inlet /outlet transitions.
Also available are a wide variety of modifications to accommodate high or low temperatures, as well as corrosive, humid or explosive environments.
"Live loaded" wear compensating seals prevent material from escaping into the bonnet area of the gate.
These seals are easily replaced without removing the valve from the processing line.
Vortex valves can be seen in operation by arranging a visit from the Vortex mobile demonstration unit: interested parties should contact the Vortex sales office.
