Seals, gaskets, O-rings, enclosures and mastics can be highly sensitive to changes in pressure, temperature and other conditions: many allow water vapour to pass straight through!
The new Versaperm WVTR (Water Vapour Transmission) meter can measure the permeability of both materials and finished packages.
These can vary greatly with around 75% of a plastic or laminate barrier typically being lost just by forming it into a blister.
The new MKVI WVTR meter can measure the water vapour permeability of almost any material and unlike conventional gravimetric measurements which take days or even weeks, it can produce results in as little as 30 minutes.
This eases the never-ending quest for effective products with new marketing and technical features.
The new instrument offers highly automated computerised control and can be configured to cope with several samples at a time, giving results that can be accurate to a few part per million (with some samples a few parts per hundred million).
Versaperm also offers a laboratory testing service for companies who test too few samples to make the purchase of equipment viable.
