Versaperm meter tests for water-vapour ingress

A Versaperm product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Jun 9, 2009

Versaperm has introduced the Water Vapour Transmission meter, which can test for the ingress of water and water vapour.

This helps to ascertain which materials, seals, mastics, or O-rings are suitable for purpose.

The meter can cope with several samples, seals or enclosures at a time and can often give a reading in as little as 30 minutes.

Seals and enclosures can be highly sensitive to changes in pressure, temperature and other conditions.

Testing is the only way to ensure that a seal is fit-for-purpose and that quality control is maintained.

The WVTR meter is easy to use and gives a series of measurements that can be saved or simply read off a screen.

It needs no re-calibration and requires, at most, minimal training to give results that can be as accurate to better than one part per million (a few parts per hundred million with some samples).

Sensitivities are in the range 0.05 - 3,200g/m2/day.

As well as manufacturing the instruments, Versaperm offers a water-vapour (plus almost all other gases) permeability laboratory service for companies that only need to test samples on an irregular basis.
