Booklet on principles of Triple Detection GPC/SEC
Viscotek has published a new 12-page booklet on Triple Detection GPC/SEC for those involved with characterisation of natural and synthetic polymers, proteins or nanoparticulate materials
Combining the proven benefits of the Viscotek patented single mode fibre (SMF) technology and an entirely new 3-axis, automated platform - the HTDLS is a truly high throughput, dynamic light scattering system unhindered by compromise.
The HTDLS delivers the highest sensitivity, wide range temperature control and low sample volume allowing you to make the most of your assays, whatever plate types you choose to use.
Achieving market-leading performance, the HTDLS cuts down measurement times to circa 1 minute per sample well.

New Dynamic Light Scattering instrumentation
Viscotek, specialists in multi-detector characterisation of proteins, polymers and nanoparticulate materials, announces a new Model 802 Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) instrument
Traditionally laboratories faced with analysing higher concentration samples, such as emulsion or nanoparticles, have found traditional light scattering instruments limited both in terms of sensitivity and resolution.
To address these deficiencies Viscotek has launched the Model 802- DAT.
Dual Attenuation Technology (DAT) is a unique technique that controls the level of light entering the sample as well as controlling scattered light going to the detector.
In this way, for the first time, researchers are able to work at the optimum conditions for the laser and detector irrespective of sample type.
In combination with OmniSIZE 3.0 software the new generation Model 802 DLS with DAT is able to automatically adjust the instrument to its optimum setting sample by sample.
From 100% transmission for the maximum sensitivity right down to 0.0001% transmission for concentrated samples - a dynamic range of 10e6.
Visitors to Booth 3838 will also have the chance see and discuss the latest versions of the company's market leading multi-detector GPC/SEC systems - the Triple Detector Array (TDA) and the GPCmax.
Viscotek triple detection systems, which employ a concentration detector, viscometer and light scattering detector operating in concert, are today the defacto standard for the characterisation of natural and synthetic polymers and proteins in the petrochemical, specialty chemical, elastomers, adhesives, coatings, food, agricultural, academic, pharmaceutical and biotechnology markets.
For scientists looking to characterise and quantitate polymers in the production environment Viscotek will be showing its popular FIPA system and the latest version of its Model 501 Dilute Solution Viscometer (DSV).
To automate acquisition and processing of data Viscotek has consulted with industry users to produce new Automated Relative Viscometry software.
Based upon the Viscotek patented Y501 viscometer design the Y501 ARV system measures solvent and sample viscosity simultaneously, avoiding errors due to temperature fluctuations and solvent variations.
The system provides faster analysis, greater precision and less solvent exposure when compared to the traditional Ubbelohde or Cannon-Fenske glass tube viscometers that it replaces.
Founded in 1985, the Viscotek innovative products and technologies are backed in Europe, North America and Asia by superior technical service and analytical support.
