Mechanical-biological treatment of municipal waste
A call for papers is made for the International symposium MBT 2005, on Mechanical-Biological Treatment of municipal solid waste to reduce organic input into landfill
A call for papers is made for the International symposium MBT 2005, on Mechanical-Biological Treatment of municipal solid waste to reduce organic input into landfill.
Mechanical-biological waste treatment (MBT) is an efficient and comparatively cheap way to recycle parts of the residual waste and to reduce organic input into landfill.
In Germany more than 50 MBT plants with an annual treatment capacity of more than 5,600,000 t per year will be in operation this year.
In Austria MBT is a wide spread technique too and many other European countries already have several MBT plants.
To connect the knowledge in the different countries and create an information pool for persons and organisations which are interested in MBT, Wasteconsult international (which has already organised successful conferences in German language) organises an international, bilingual (English, German) MBT-conference with simultaneous translation.
The conference will take place between the 23rd and 25th of November 2005 in Hanover, Germany.
One of the conference days will include an excursion to MBT-plants.
The conference is accompanied by an exhibition.
We are looking for papers about the following topics.
* Legal aspects, aims and boundary values.
* Current and future relevance of MBT.
* Competition and material (waste) streams in Europe.
* Experiences with bid invitations for MBT plants.
* Functionality, economic efficiency and ecobalance of MBT.
* New developments in machine and system engineering.
* Emissions and their treatment.
* Landfilling of MBT-waste.
* Conditioning and use of MBT output fractions (e.g RDF).
* Experiences with new and rebuilt plants.
* Process control and analytics.
If you are interested, please submit an abstract and the following information by the 5th of August 2005.
Your submission should have the following content.
* Subject: Offered paper for MBT 2005.
* Title and abstract of the paper.
* Institution.
* Name and address.
