Peristaltic pumps simplify moving apple pie mix
The introduction of hose pumps to an apple pie mixing and food processing plant has made production faster and completely eliminated the need for seals, valves and manual handling of products
Designed to fit 10mm and 15mm hoses, the patented direct-coupled design of the SPX10 and SPX15 ensure perfect alignment of the pumphead and drive.
They have no seals, valves, diaphragms, stators, glands or other costly hardware to replace - only the hose requires changing, thereby simplifying operation and reducing running costs.
Users will find that the time taken to change the hose is significantly reduced thanks to the simple hose clamping and flange design.
Further reductions in maintenance and set-up times are achieved thanks to the greased-for-life pump bearings, which are incorporated into the cast-iron SPX pumphead.
An additional feature of the SPX 10 and 15 hose pumps is an innovative leak-proof zone, which has been created between the pumphead bearings and the gearbox bearings.
The new SPX 10 and 15 series hose pumps typically provide flow rates of up to 160 litre/hour (120rpm) and 600 litre/hour respectively at pressures of up to 7.5 bar.
They are particularly suited to handling fluids that are abrasive, such as lime slurry, kalic, ferric chloride and sodium hypochlorite.
The unique direct-coupled design of the SPX range provides all the performance, reliability and ease of maintenance benefits of bareshaft (long-coupled) designs with the compact advantages of close-coupled pumps.
The addition of the two new models to the SPX pump family means that users can now choose from sizes ranging from 10mm to 100mm depending on the requirements of the application.
