Watson-Marlow Bredel Pumps has established a framework agreement for the supply of peristaltic pumps and spares, for water industry applications, to United Utilities, with effect from 1st April 2007

The agreement will strengthen the long-standing relationship between the two companies, which has been in existence for over 25 years "We are delighted to be continuing our long relationship with United Utilities", says Philip Bolton, Water Industry Specialist at Watson-Marlow Bredel: "This framework agreement is a hugely positive step forward and we look forward to providing United Utilities with the level of service and support they have come to expect from us at Watson-Marlow Bredel"

The framework agreement relates to the use of peristaltic pumps for the dosing, transfer and metering of liquids and slurries within the water industry.

This includes abrasive materials and chemicals such as lime slurry, ferric and sodium hypochlorite, as well as sewage sludge.

Peristaltic pumps are ideal for challenging applications such as these, because nothing but the chemically-resistant hose comes into contact with the pumped material.

With no valves, glands or seals, the pumps are also unaffected by gases or crystals that may be formed by the chemicals during transfer.

Peristaltic pumps are able to run dry indefinitely, and maintenance is quick and easy.

The first peristaltic pump was supplied by Watson-Marlow Bredel to United Utilities in 1983, and is still in operation today. Request free introductory details about products from Watson-Marlow Bredel Pumps ...
