Overwhelming response to WBF European conference
WBF has received a record number of papers in response to the call for presentations for its 2008 European Conference, which will be held 10-12 November in Barcelona, Spain
WBF received more than 55 papers from over 25 countries around the world, including China, India, Singapore, Brazil, Germany, and the Ukraine.
The paper topics include the implementation and use of industry standards like ISA88, ISA95, ISA99, and B2MML in batch, continuous, and discrete applications.
Presentations will explore important issues like interoperability, convergence, security, product lifecycle management, lean manufacturing, MES, and more.
"The response to the European Conference Call for Papers has been incredible," said WBF Chairman Maurice Wilkins of Yokogawa: "Not only are we impressed with the quality and comprehensive nature of the papers, but we're very excited about the representation of so many parts of the world.
As a global organization, WBF seeks to give our members a chance to learn about technologies being used around the world, and this conference will definitely achieve that goal".
The 2008 WBF European Conference offers attendees a chance to learn how to successfully apply and use current, new, and cutting-edge manufacturing management, integration, and control methods and technologies.
The conference, with its theme of "Bridging the Divide between IT and Manufacturing," will serve as a forum for professionals to work toward bridging IT and manufacturing through networking and the exchange of lessons learned and real world experiences.
