WBF will host its bi-annual European Conference at the Condes de Barcelona Hotel in Barcelona, Spain, on 10-12 November, entitled "Bridging the Divide between IT and Manufacturing"

This conference will showcase how to successfully apply and use current, new, and cutting-edge manufacturing management, integration, and control methods and technologies The conference will serve as a forum for professionals to work toward bridging IT and manufacturing through the sharing of lessons learned and real world experiences as you network and exchange information with other professionals

More than 67 papers from over 25 countries have been submitted and the paper topics include the implementation and use of industry standards like ISA88, ISA95, ISA99, and B2MML in batch, continuous, and discrete applications.

Presentations will explore important issues like interoperability, convergence, security, product lifecycle management, lean manufacturing, MES and more.

The preliminary agenda includes:.

* The Opening Night Reception.

* Keynote messages from industry leaders.

* Tutorials on industry standards.

* Vendor exhibits by key suppliers.

* Presentations, including topics such as: Lean Manufacturing; ISA95/B2M Integration; ISA88; production business process modeling.

WBF holds a conference bi-annually in Europe in addition to an annual North American conference.

The conference has become a global event with participants from around the world.

Originating in the ISA88 realm, WBF has naturally evolved to become the main, dedicated supporter of ISA88, ISA95, ISA99, and OMAC standards.

WBF has broadened its scope to the entire production system control, from batch to continuous, discrete, and hybrid manufacturing processes, and from equipment automation to production planning.
