Wyatt Technology unveils its new range of macromolecular characterisation instrumentation at Pittcon 2005.

Wyatt Technology, the world leader in absolute macromolecular characterisation instrumentation and software, will be unveiling its complete light scattering solutions at Pittcon 2005, Orange County Convention Centre, Orlando, Florida.

Products being launched include the new DAWN Heleos Multi-Angle Light Scattering (MALS) detector and the DynaPro Dynamic Light Scattering systems for protein characterisation.

Wyatt will be exhibiting its unique product range on booth 1871, from 27 February to 4 March 2005.

Debuting at Pittcon 2005, is the DynaPro instrument line (formerly of Proterion/Protein Solutions Corporation).

Offering the highest sensitivity in Dynamic Light Scattering, it has become the industry standard in the protein crystallisation market.

Traditionally, Wyatt has dominated the Multi-Angle Light Scattering (MALS) market with its DAWN detectors; however, by incorporating the DynaPro range, Wyatt is now able to offer its customers the complete light scattering solution.

Also launching at the show is the new DAWN Heleos MALS detector.

This is a new generation detector, which is capable of determining radius and molar mass results simultaneously.

It is also able to calculate absolute polymer and biopolymer masses directly from the variation of the light scattering.

It works with absolute precision, meaning that there is no need to refer to standards or a priori assumptions.

Other products being shown on booth 1871 will include the ViscoStar Viscometer and the Optilab rEX revolutionary refractive index (RI) detector.

The rEX detector became available in October 2004, and has 256 times the detection power and up to 50 times the dynamic range of any other RI detector in existence.

The ViscoStar is a new generation of online differential viscometer with contemporary electronics.

It combines high accuracy and can be integrated with Wyatt's Multi-Angle Light Scattering (MALS) detectors and Astra software to benefit the biotechnology, chemical/petrochemical, pharmaceutical and medical device industries.

The company will also be showcasing its new Astra V HPLC software system at PittCon 2005.

The software runs all of Wyatt's detectors.

The Astra software, the industry standard for light scattering analysis, also boasts features found in no other chromatography packages including the reporting of standard deviations of the measurements, band broadening corrections and proprietary glycosylation/PEGylation algorithms.

Astra also sports the ability to import sample queue quick set information from Waters' Empower software, thereby enabling customers of Waters/Wyatt equipment to share data.

Wyatt Technology is the only manufacturer of light scattering instrumentation who develops its own hardware and software, making the company the premier supplier of macromolecular characterization solutions.

With installations in more than 50 countries, Wyatt Technology is the world's leading manufacturer of laser light scattering instrumentation for absolute macromolecular characterisation.

It is the only company in the world focused exclusively on such systems, their design, and application.
