A Global partnership in projects implementing Manufacturing Execution Systems for regulated industries has been signed by Bayer Technology Services and Werum Software and Systems at Interkama

Bayer Technology Services, the engineering affiliate of the Bayer group, and Werum Software and Systems have signed a global technology partnership at the Interkama fair.

The organisations will work together to implement projects in the regulated industries.

The cooperation primarily focuses at pharmaceutical companies intending to install a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to optimise their production processes, particularly with regard to process performance, safety, costs, and quality.

Targeting at an integrated management of the production process, MES are software systems enabling vertical integration of the business management level, represented by an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, with the process automation level.

In parallel, they allow for horizontal information integration with respect to the manufacturing equipment.

The agreement establishes the framework for joint acquisition and execution of projects implementing MES systems.

The software to be applied will be the Werum product suite PAS-X.

Werum assets are their world-class product PAS-X, with more than 300 successful installations all over the world, as well as the comprehensive expertise in the development and customisation of MES solutions integrating the shop floor IT architecture.

Bayer Technology Services contributes their experience and products designed to develop and design pharmaceutical plants and to optimise the production processes.

Several 100 man-years experience dedicated to MES projects are proof for the profound knowledge in MES.

Werum Software and Systems is a leading supplier of Manufacturing Execution Systems for the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry worldwide.
