Witt presents a new advanced gas
analyser
"MAPY" is a new high-speed gas analysis unit for modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) by Witt-Gasetechnik of Germany
The new MAPY supersedes the "MFA" series and will be available from March 2008 The futuristic design heralds a new era of plant quality control, not only in terms of appearance

Stable gas pressure makes for quality applications
The new low pressure regulator from Witt Gasetechnik now makes it possible to obtain industrial quality, maintenance-free oxygen regulators with constant flow in the low pressure part of the range
Control even tiny increases in pressure
Until now, finding a reliable low pressure safety valve (mbar range) has been a problem for operators of gas systems: safety valve type AV619 by Witt-Gasetechnik fills this gap
Witt Gasetechnik, from Witten in Germany, promises customers added benefits in terms of the scope of features.
The unit guarantees higher efficiency for continuously monitoring gas inline as well as for random analysis with a sample needle.
Users will particularly appreciate the advanced technology integrated into this compact analyser.
This starts with the display, breaking the tradition by using a touch screen.
This eliminates all the usual buttons and displays, facilitates handling and speeds up cleaning.
In fact, speed is the new catchword for the "MAPY".
For example, measuring starts automatically as soon as the sample needle is inserted into the product.
According to Witt, the unit has a "huge" memory for recording the measured data.
Using the integrated USB port, data can now also be saved to a USB memory stick - very practical.
If the readings are needed elsewhere in real time, the unit transfers them to the user network via Ethernet.
A plain text printer can either be connected or integrated into the unit for high-speed printouts on the spot.
A barcode reader can also be connected for simpler product and user management.
Software updates can also be downloaded directly to the unit from the Internet.
The Witt "MAPY" supersedes the "MFA" model series of portable gas analysers for oxygen, carbon dioxide and helium.
Just as its predecessor, the new model will also be available in different versions depending on the specific application and type of gas.
Oxygen is detected either by a chemical sensor or by a zirconia measuring cell.
Carbon dioxide is measured using infrared.
A double sensor version will also be available.
The new unit includes various practical features of the "MFA", such as simple calibration, permanent limit value monitoring and convenient alarm control.
Naturally the new units also stand out with minimum sample gas requirements, high accuracy and high-speed measurement.
Witt has announced that the new unit will be launched in March 2008.
