Witt Gas Techniques has been certified by BAM to confirm that the company's safety devices and quick action couplings meet the requirements of various European standards covering gas welding safety

Witt Gas Techniques, the Warrington, Cheshire based gas safety, control, mixing and analysis equipment supplier has been certified by the BAM (Bundensanstalt fur Materialforschung und -prufung) certification body in Berlin, to confirm that the company's safety devices and quick action couplings meet the requirements of EN 730:2002, ISO 5175:1987, EN561:2002, ENISO15615:2002, TRAC207 (08/99) These standards cover the safety standards of gas welding, cutting and allied equipment including their safe use

The Super 66 automatic Flashback arrestor, designed for use in the shipbuilding and railway industries or where high gas flow capacity at 10 bar of up to 106 m3/hour are used, when using oxy-fuel equipment, is one of the Witt Gas products covered by this certification.

'Flashbacks' can happen suddenly, causing either minor damage to the gas equipment being used or flames passing through the equipment at speeds up to 1,400mph causing violent shock waves and serious damage to the equipment and injuring the user.

The Super 66 automatically protects the user against 'flashbacks' to the oxy-fuel equipment, by preventing back feeding and extinguishing the flame as well as switching off the gas supply if either the pressure or temperature rises due to flashback.

Another product having BAM certification is the WITT SK100 quick hose coupler, which conforms to EN561/ISO7289, providing a safe, quick and non-interchangeable connection of equipment.

Gas-tightness when disconnected is guaranteed for oxygen, fuel gases and inert gases.
