MFA gas analyser now has new protective
casing
The MFA portable gas analyser introduced in 2002 by Witt Gas Techniques is used for monitoring protective atmosphere packaging (MAP) particularly as used in the food industry
The MFA portable gas analyser introduced in 2002 by Witt Gas Techniques , the Warrington, Cheshire based gas safety, control, analyser and mixing equipment supplier is used for monitoring protective atmosphere packaging (MAP) Used to measure 02 and CO2 levels in food packaging, it is now supplied with a new, easy to clean, hygienic, robust stainless steel casing

New non-destructive leak tester for packaging
Witt Gas Techniques has introduced a new system for non-destructive testing for leaks in individual flexible and rigid food and pharmaceutical packaging based on CO2 detection technology
This analyser requires only a 6 ml sample of gas from a package to monitor the gas content.
If the set limits in a package are exceeded an alarm signal is given and the packaging line can be halted to avoid further quality problems.
The Witt Logger software based on Windows stores the production data and can display them in Excel format when connected to a PC.
The data can then be stored for future reference.
In Holland, at one of Europe's largest producers of mini cheese packs, MFA is helping to keep the correct oxygen levels in the packs over a programmed range.
The MFA is used to continuously monitor the modified atmosphere in a tube leading from the Witt gas mixers to the foil packaging.
The readings are recorded and stored using the Witt Logger software.
The MFA has reduced the sampling volume from 30 ml to approximately 6 ml.
A volume saving of 80%.
If the oxygen concentration deviates over 1%, the MFA gives an audio alarm and the line is automatically stopped.
The problem is then resolved.
The companys QA auditing meets the standard of the BRC (British Retailer Consortium).
The Witt Logger software records all the important quality data for each of their production lines 4 models are available in the range depending on the application, including for use in measuring O2, CO2, O2/CO2 and He in welding.
All models can operate in a temperature range between 0C to 45C and have two alarm signals for minimum and maximum settings and being adjustable for each gas.
The measuring range is 0-100% with a +/- repeatability of 0.2%.
Options include the Witt Logger Software, table printer for instant documentation, audio-visual alarms, plug in for external signal connections, fully automatic calibration for single gas use and a tamper proof lockable door.
