Food and pharmaceutical packaging company engineers/technicians no longer have to be in the vicinity of a modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) line to be aware of gas mixing problems!

Food and pharmaceutical packaging company engineers/technicians no longer have to be in the vicinity of a modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) line to be aware of gas mixing problems on the line, they get an alarm call e-mail sent from the line automatically using a Web based module, designed and manufactured by Witt Gas Techniques , the Warrington based gas safety, control, mixing and analysis equipment supplier This Web I/O module can be connected between the gas mixer and the packaging company's computer network

It is able to monitor up to 12 different gas mixers at the same time, each with its own individual, easily identified e-mail address.

Carl Long, General Manager at Witt Gas Techniques said: "With this easily installed piece of equipment, companies involved in modified atmosphere packaging are able to free up their engineers/technicians to carry out other tasks, whilst the packaging line carries on functioning properly.

If there are any changes in the gas mix or supply, the line is shut down, he/she is remotely called and he/she can attend to the problem.".
