The GM60 gas mixer, now used by many gas suppliers, mixes odourless gases with an odorising substance, DMS (Demethylsulphite).
The strong aroma of this substance mixed with the flammable gas is easily noticed and attention can be called to the presence of danger and action taken to turn off the gas supply and vent the building.
