The GM60 gas mixer from Witt Gas Techniques provides added safety for oxygen and other dangerous odourless gas supplies by mixing in an odorising substance

The GM60 gas mixer from Witt Gas Techniques, the Warrington based gas safety, control, mixing and analysis equipment supplier provides added safety to oxygen and other dangerous odourless gases by mixing in an odorising substance Oxygen is a common gas used in shipyards and steelworks and there is a danger of it and other odourless flammable gases going un-noticed if there is a gas leak

A build up of dangerous gases within an area can create the right conditions for an explosion.

The GM60 gas mixer, now used by many gas suppliers, mixes odourless gases with an odorising substance, DMS (Demethylsulphite).

The strong aroma of this substance mixed with the flammable gas is easily noticed and attention can be called to the presence of danger and action taken to turn off the gas supply and vent the building.

Carl Long, General Manager at Witt Gas UK said: "This is a very simple device that can easily be used with any gas supplies, whether it is bulk storage or individual cylinders and it can be retrofitted to existing gas supplies.

Leaking gas, especially odourless gas, is one of the main causes of accidents and this inexpensive system could help save lives.".
